The Coach
Coach Liz - Runner and Endurance Coach
Hey there, I'm Liz, the founder of The Run Effect, and I'm thrilled to be your coach on this incredible running journey. My mission? To empower runners of all abilities, helping you not only reach your goals but savor every moment of the process.

My coaching journey is rooted in solid qualifications. I've taken the Athletics Canada Endurance Club coaching course, and more recently gotten the 8020 Endurance Coach certification. I'm also proud to be a Training Peaks Level 1 accredited coach. These credentials aren't just letters on paper; they represent my commitment to providing a personalized, effective, and science-backed approach to your running journey.

Back in 2013, I dove into coaching during Westmount High School's cross-country season, and that experience shaped my coaching philosophy. It wasn't just about performance; it was about finding joy and fulfillment in every run. I wasn't able to continue high school coaching due to a job change, but started coaching some remote athletes shortly after. The Run Effect started taking shape in my mind as a way to share thoughts and information to help runners thrive, evolve, and relish the process.
Now, in my 40s, I'm not just a coach but a runner chasing my own high-level goals, including the elusive sub-3 hour marathon. Why? Because I believe that the passion for running only deepens with time, and I'm living proof of that.

My tagline, "Helping endurance runners of all abilities stay engaged, evolve in their running, and enjoy the process," sums up what I believe in. It's not just about crossing finish lines; it's about evolving as a runner, finding joy in the journey, and staying engaged with the transformative power of running.

So, whether you're a beginner taking your first steps or a seasoned runner looking to evolve and enjoy every moment, I'm here for you. Let's lace up those shoes, hit the pavement, and let The Run Effect shape your enduring love for this incredible sport. Can't wait to run with you!
